Scholarships, or “camperships,” are becoming increasingly important for youth and adults planning to attend the camps at Hunt Hill – both residential (overnight) and day camps. Without some financial aid, many would not be able to benefit from the environmental education programs we offer. Generally, scholarship amounts are about 50% of the camp costs – thus encouraging individuals to be responsible for some of the costs, and to stretch the limited dollars to serve more people.
Many school districts can no longer afford outdoor education fieldtrips in their tight budgets either; so financial support for teachers’ classes to help pay for busing costs, or the outdoor program costs has filled a critical need.
Each year the needs exceed the scholarship fund. Local lake associations, parent-teacher groups, service clubs, friends of Hunt Hill, and businesses have willingly stepped up to contribute to our scholarship fund. If you are able to help others attend Hunt Hill camps or fieldtrips, please contact the Hunt Hill office at 715.635.6543, or send an email to info@hunthill.org for more information on funds availability; or to learn how to make a donation to the Hunt Hill Scholarship Fund.
Thank you.
