SUMMARY:Little Explorers: The Great Pumpkin Harvest
DESCRIPTION:Little Explorers is an exciting morning of stories\, crafts\, songs\, and nature activities geared towards 3–6 year olds at Hunt Hill; though all ages are welcome! Every program starts in the Lower Level of the Richard Grand Recreation Hall at Hunt Hill Nature Center\, unless otherwise noted. Guardians must stay for the duration of the program\, and each program will feature a different nature theme. Depending on weather\, we will be outside for a portion of this program. Please dress appropriately to be inside and outside in the weather. \nOctober is dedicated to pumpkins and fall harvest fun\, and Explorers will learn about pumpkin growth\, textures\, and flavors. We will read Pumpkin Jack by Will Hubbell\, and have a scavenger hunt for a pumpkin to paint and decorate! \nProgram Fee: Free\, but donations are appreciated.\nLocation: Meet at Lower Level of Richard Grand Recreation Hall\, Hunt Hill Nature Center\nRegistration is not required\, but strongly encouraged. Limit: 35 people \nNOTE: You must register yourself AND your child(ren). GRANDPARENTS\, please have your grandchild’s parents create a free account (they do not have to become a member). DESCRIPTION:Participate in a Citizen Science project at Hunt Hill! Citizen Science empowers the curious and concerned to collect valuable data that contributes to specific scientific research. Limit: 20 people \nParticipate in the National Audubon Society’s 127th Christmas Bird Count (CBC)! The count is the longest-running citizen science program in the world and involves volunteers traveling assigned routes to count birds.
