SUMMARY:Wisconsin Master Naturalist Course
DESCRIPTION:Wisconsin Master Naturalist training is a stimulating week of classroom and fieldwork with people interested in life-long learning\, nature\, ecology\, and conservation issues. On-site overnight accommodations are available for participants through Hunt Hill’s website. \nRegistration will open on January 13\, 2025 through Wisconsin Master Naturalist.  Space is limited and fills FAST. \n\nMaster Naturalist training is a 40-hour series of sessions and field experiences that presents a consistent\, statewide perspective on Wisconsin’s natural resources\, ecological processes\, and conservation issues. They are offered across the state through trained partner organizations. Although each training varies based on the location\, field experiences and guest experts\, key concepts remain consistent from training to training. Learn more about what’s covered in each of our Master Naturalist trainings. \nTo synthesize and implement their knowledge\, participants will work in small groups to complete a small training project related to education/interpretation\, stewardship\, or citizen-science. The training project is a fun\, low-stakes opportunity to try out volunteer activities in a supportive environment. \nDetails: \n\nThe participant fee is $300 and includes all materials.\nRoom & Board: $400/week\nNeed-based scholarships are available.\nAttendance is essential. Only four hours of training may be missed.\nOpen to adults 18 years of age and older.\nIt’s a fun and motivational learning environment!\n\nRoom & Board at Hunt Hill Nature Center for Wisconsin Master Naturalist Training is highly encouraged for ALL participants. DESCRIPTION:Cakes at the Lake is an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast which features buttermilk and specialty pancakes\, sausage\, fresh fruit\, and beverages. Following the breakfast\, guests are encouraged to stay for the free nature program sponsored by Long Lake Preservation Association. This all ages program will introduce participants to the bats that call Wisconsin home. Through fun facts\, actual bat calls\, imagery\, and more we’ll discover some of the reasons these true flying mammals are incredible and how we can help them.
