Hosted at Round Man Brewing Company, Spooner
Presentation by Brian Heeringa, U.S. Forest Service Wildlife Biologist
Bats play an important and unique role in our world and are vitally important to not only the health of the environment, but people as well! In the United States the majority of bats are the primary predators of nighttime flying insects, but other bats around the world also act as pollinators and seed dispersers. Bats make up nearly one quarter of all mammal species in the world, but face many threats such as the devastating disease, White-nose Syndrome. Come and learn about the diversity of bats, which ones call Wisconsin home, what is being done to protect these important animals, and ways that you can get involved in your very own backyard.
