Birds & Beer – Osprey

February 7 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Hosted at What the Heck Eatery and Spirits in Spooner

Presentation by Ryan Magana, ecologist

With their spectacular dives, piercing vocalizations and ability to adapt in a human-dominated environment, osprey are one of the most recognizable large raptors of North America’s fauna. Having rebounded from serious population declines in the 20th Century, osprey are now found nesting in over 55 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties and their numbers continue to climb. On this night, we will discuss osprey ecology and some of the research that surrounds this charismatic, attention-grabbing “fish eagle.”
