August 7 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am$7
Date: Saturday, August 7, 2021
Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
Aquatic invasive species (AIS) are the species that invade our lakes, rivers, and wetlands and pose a significant threat to our native ecosystems. We’ll learn about common AIS such as zebra mussels, Eurasian water milfoil, banded mystery snails, and curly leaf pondweed, invasive bighead, silver, grass, and black carp.
Presenter Katie Sickmann is the Invasive Species Program Coordinator for the St. Croix River Association (SCRA). SCRA is committed to protecting the St. Croix River and its watershed from the threats posed by invasive species.
The program fee covers the cost of breakfast and the nature program.
All participants will receive the same food: one large gourmet muffin, one cup of fresh fruit, two strips of bacon, and a beverage of choice.
Arrive anytime between 9:30 and 10:00 am to pick up your breakfast.
The nature program will begin at 10:00 am at the outdoor amphitheater. The program will end by 11:00 am with some time for Questions and Answers at the end.
Feel free to stick around afterwards to hike the trails or play on the playscape!
This program will occur exclusively outdoors. Food will be served outdoors and you can enjoy it at the picnic tables or bring your own picnic blanket or camp chairs.
