Fred Clark is a founding member and the Executive Director for Wisconsin’s Green Fire – Voices for Conservation. Fred comes from a 30-year career in Wisconsin conservation. He was previously the Executive Director of the Forest Stewards Guild, a forest ecologist for Wisconsin Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, a forester for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and a consulting forester. Fred served three terms as a Representative to the Wisconsin State Assembly between 2009-2014 representing Sauk and Columbia Counties, and he has served on the Assembly Committees on Forestry and the Environment, and the Committee on Natural Resources.
Wisconsin’s Green Fire: Voices for Conservation was founded in 2017 to promote science-based practices and a long-term vision in environmental protection and natural resources management. Through our strong and growing membership of conservation professionals and committed citizens, Wisconsin’s Green Fire seeks to restore and strengthen Wisconsin’s tradition as a national conservation leader. Since our founding, Wisconsin’s Green Fire has become a go-to organization providing science-based information to policy makers, state and local agencies, and citizens who care about our conservation tradition and sustaining our natural resources.
Bruce Krawisz was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Mayo Medical School, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, and Washington University (St. Louis) Graduate School of Medicine. He is a physician with board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology from the American Board of Pathology. He was a practicing pathologist at University of Vermont, Marshfield Clinic, and Prevention Genetics and retired from practice in 2016. Since retirement he has studied the human health effects of climate change and air pollution.
Frank Pratt was born in Worcester, Mass. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Holy Cross, and an MS in Fishery Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He retired from the Wi. DNR in 2011, after 37 years as the Senior Fisheries Biologist at Hayward, Sawyer County. Since that time he has been active in youth education, and advocating for climate resiliency at watershed level. As a representative of The Citizens’ Climate Lobby and Wi. Greenfire he has lately been giving a presentation on the effects of Climate Chaos on Wisconsin Fisheries. (Intitled “In-Seine”).
Mr. Pratt is most famous for his 2016 statement in Wisconsin Outdoor News. Ask him about that after his presentation. Also ask him about his efforts to obtain a Doctorate degree in fisheries studying the genome of Namekagon River brown trout.
Haley Selen is a naturalist at the Cable Natural History Museum. She is a MuseumMobile educator, bringing the science of nature into elementary classrooms across northern Wisconsin. She is also the primary trainer for three education raptors at the Museum. She loves to share the stage with live animals and connect people to Wisconsin wildlife.
Yata is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with 12 CD’s and a Minnesota Music Award in Folk. He is a retired social worker in mental health and criminal justice. Yata lives with artist/gallery owner Jean Accola on lakes in Wisconsin and Costa Rica, and is currently studying Spanish.
