Little Explorers: Mushrooms & Decomposers

Little Explorers is an exciting morning of stories, crafts, songs, and nature activities geared towards 3–6 year olds at Hunt Hill; though all ages are welcome! Every program starts in the Lower Level of the Richard Grand Recreation Hall at Hunt Hill Nature Center, unless otherwise noted. Guardians must stay for the duration of the program, and each program will feature a different nature theme. Depending on weather, we will be outside for a portion of this program. Please dress appropriately to be inside and outside in the weather.
In September, Explorers will discover the important role of mushrooms and decomposers in nature. We will read A Log’s Life by Wendy Pfeffer and A Walk Through Mushroom Town by Nicole and David Charpentier, and make mushrooms with air-dry clay!
