Little Explorers: Rocks & Fossils

February 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
FREE

Little Explorers is an exciting morning of stories, crafts, songs, and nature activities geared towards 3–6 year olds at Hunt Hill; though all ages are welcome! Every program starts in the Lower Level of the Richard Grand Recreation Hall at Hunt Hill Nature Center, unless otherwise noted. Guardians must stay for the duration of the program, and each program will feature a different nature theme. Depending on weather, we will be outside for a portion of this program. Please dress appropriately to be inside and outside in the weather.

In February, Explorers will journey back in time as they learn about rocks and fossils. Children will discover how rocks are formed, what fossils can tell us about the past, and the different types of rocks found in nature. We will read Ricky the Rock that Couldn’t Roll by Jay Miletsky and the children will create their own fossils to take home!

Program Fee: Free, but donations are appreciated.
Location: Meet at Lower Level of Richard Grand Recreation Hall, Hunt Hill Nature Center
Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. Limit: 35 people
