A workshop to explore the abundant inspiration and possibilities that nature offers as it relates to artistic expression. This two-day workshop will focus on artists and their relationship with nature. This program is open to all, and also qualifies as continuing education for WI Master Naturalists.
We will be creating land art (ephemeral art), learning several print-making techniques and some basic nature photography tips (using cell phones). We will be making our own paint brushes from objects found in nature and composing a culminating collage made from the original prints we produce combined with found images. We will be working with natural elements collected on the Hunt Hill trails, combined with papers and pigments in the studio. This course will expand creative thinking, expose you to new techniques and artists and hopefully provide you with a new “tool box” for art making possibilities.
